Cosmic Bullets
The incredible Orion Bullets show 'bullets' of gas punching their way through clouds of hydrogen gas in the Orion Nebula. Travelling at more than a 1000 times the speed of sound, these clumps of gas originated from some unknown violent event associated with a formation of a cluster of stars. Far from being bullet sized, each white globule is 10x the width of Pluto's orbit around the sun! Source picture Gemini Observatory.
